With the help of a new knitting machine, it is now possible for the first time to produce very fine and delicate knitted fabrics. These new fine knits can be produced and marketed as continuous or made-up goods in various dimensions.
During production, the material used, its fineness and the set number of stitches play a decisive role in terms of the knitted fabric’s flexibility, stretch, stiffness, load-bearing capacity and porosity, as properties tailored to the specific application are required.
Thanks to the wide range of material options, the use of mono- and multifilaments or combinations thereof, and the adjustment options on the knitting machine, a broad spectrum of applications can be catered for. The fine knits can be used, amongst other things, as filter bags, as filter hoses for e.g. drainage pipes, or as filter socks for swimming pool skimmers. Applications in aquatics or coarse-mesh tube nets are also conceivable.
