Filtration

thoenes ® Filtration solutions

thoes’ filtration solutions ® can be used in a variety of filtration applications. Continuity, precision, reproducibility and suitability for series production are the hallmarks of our knitted filters and silencers. For production, we use high-performance, state-of-the-art multi-material knitting machines. We assemble your product from continuous fabric in our robot-assisted production cell.

Our filtration solutions can be precisely tailored to your specific application requirements in our robot-assisted production cell. We can individually adjust the following parameters:

• width,

• mesh density,

• material composition,

• filament fineness of the raw material.

We offer fine knits, filters and silencers, as well as metal knits. Fine
knits are manufactured on our knitting machine. We are able to produce very fine and delicate knitted fabrics from polyester, nylon, polyamide, polypropylene and other materials. The material used, its fineness and the set gauge play a decisive role in the manufacturing process with regard to the flexibility, stretch, stiffness, load-bearing capacity and porosity of the fine knitted fabric. Thanks to the wide range of material options, the use of mono- and multifilaments or a combination thereof, our filtration solutions can serve a broad spectrum of applications. Our fine knitted fabrics can, for example, be used in swimming pool skimmers, aquariums or coarse-mesh hose nets.

The filters and silencers from thoenes ® can be used in the automotive, process and energy industries. Applications in filtration (e.g. particle separation in chemical processes) or as silencers to reduce noise levels to a specified level whilst maintaining a defined flow rate and duration are possible.

We manufacture metal knits as pressed parts or as knitted fabrics in a wide range of dimensions. Various base materials can be used – depending on the type of application and customer requirements. Thanks to its elasticity and strength, the knitted fabric is highly versatile. Materials such as chrome wire, brass, glass fibres, high-temperature yarns or other materials, as well as wire gauges ranging from 0.1 to 0.2 mm, are suitable for knitting tapes and hoses.

areas of application:

Swimmingpool-Skimmer
aquatics
hose net
noise damper

Fine knits

Fine knitted fabrics can be produced and marketed as continuous rolls or finished goods in various dimensions. During production, the material used, its fineness and the set gauge play a decisive role in determining the flexibility, stretch, stiffness, strength and porosity of the fabric, as specific properties are required depending on the intended application. Thanks to the wide range of material options, the use of mono- and multifilaments or combinations thereof, and the adjustment options on the knitting machine, a broad spectrum of applications can be catered for. Fine knitted fabrics can be used, for example, as filter bags, as filter hoses for drainage pipes, or as filter socks for swimming pool skimmers. Applications in aquatics or coarse-mesh tube nets are also conceivable.

Filters and silencers

Continuity, precision, reproducibility and suitability for mass production are the hallmarks of thoenes® knitted filters and silencers. We use high-performance, state-of-the-art multi-material knitting machines for production. In addition to continuous fabric, we assemble your product in our robot-assisted production cell.

Metal mesh

thoenes® metal knitted fabrics can be manufactured as moulded parts or as knitted fabrics in a wide variety of dimensions. A wide range of base materials can be used in production, depending on the type of application and in close consultation with the customer to meet their specific requirements. Depending on the number of stitches, the knitted fabric is highly versatile and offers varying degrees of elasticity and load-bearing capacity, enabling a broad spectrum of applications. We can manufacture our wire mesh as flat strips or as tubular mesh. Depending on the mesh count, various widths from 20 to 100 mm are possible. These new wire meshes can be produced and marketed as continuous or finished products. Whether chrome wire, brass or other materials, wire thicknesses of 0.1–0.2 mm are suitable for production. Please feel free to enquire about other sizes. Depending on the material and size, the knitted fabric is highly variable and has different levels of elasticity and tensile strength, enabling a wide range of applications. We also knit tapes and tubes using glass fibres and high-temperature yarns.
