The thoenes ® ePTFE flat sealing tapes consist either of 100% multidirectionally expanded PTFE or 100% pure, monodirectionally expanded PTFE. Depending on requirements, they are available in self-adhesive form or in FDA-grade (Premium) quality.
Key properties :
- Excellent adaptation to all surfaces,
- Compensates very well for unevenness in sealing surfaces,
- UV-resistant, no ageing,
- Temperature resistance -268 °C to 270 °C,
- Chemical resistance to virtually all media,
- Not resistant to dissolved and molten alkali metals or elemental fluorine at high temperatures and pressures,
- Non-toxic, biologically inert and physiologically harmless in the recommended areas of application (see data sheet).
Areas of application :
Depending on the application and type of material, the flat sealing tapes can be used in heat exchangers, enamelled systems, reactors, GRP pipework and vessels, pharmaceutical and food processing plants, apparatus engineering, flue gas systems, pumps, ventilation systems, pipe flanges and as vessel seals.
