The thoenes ® P643 – Aramid-PTFE packing consisting of sintered, highly stretched PTFE multifilament fibres (surface) and continuous aramid fibres (p-aramid) with PTFE lubricant additive (paraffin oil) at the edges and in the core.
Key properties :
- Good pressure resistance,
- Low wear,
- Aramid fibres are sensitive to UV radiation,
- Non-flammable,
- Good chemical resistance to solvents, fuels, lubricants, salt water, waste water, abrasive media (sand, sludge),
- Not resistant to highly concentrated acids and alkalis, alkali metals, fluorine and their compounds at high pressures and temperatures.
Aramid continuous filament (p-aramid)
- Flammable but self-extinguishing,
- Max. continuous temperature 250 °C,
- Short-term exposure to 300 °C possible.
PTFE multifilament
- Max. continuous temperature 250 °C,
- Short-term exposure to 280 °C possible.
Application types:
Primarily for piston pumps, but also for centrifugal pumps, mixers and valves in the food and chemical industries, as well as in paper manufacturing.
Supply forms :
- Rectangular or square design,
- Zebra braiding also available,
- Dimensions: 7–25 mm (other dimensions on request).
