The thoenes ® K274 – ceramic yarn cord consists of twisted ceramic yarns reinforced with chrome steel wire.
Key properties :
- Extremely textile-like and soft,
- The low thermal conductivity of the fibres results in excellent insulating properties,
- Decomposition of the organic fibres (‘spinning aid’) from 200 °C.
Applications :
- Resistant to fats, liquid metals, acids (except phosphoric and hydrofluoric acid) and weak alkalis,
- Temperature-resistant up to approx. 1100 °C,
- Suitable for insulating and sealing applications, including for boilers, expansion joints,
- chimney doors and flues.
Available forms :
- Round version reinforced with Cr wire (5 – 25 mm *).
