The thoenes ® P640 – Aramid fibre yarn packing is a high-quality packing consisting of aramid staple fibres (p-aramid) treated with special impregnants.
Key properties :
- Good pressure resistance,
- Non-flammable,
- Aramid fibres are sensitive to UV radiation.
Aramid staple fibre (p-aramid)
- Flammable but self-extinguishing,
- Max. continuous operating temperature 300 °C,
- Short-term exposure to 370–400 °C possible.
PTFE impregnation
- Max. continuous operating temperature of 250 °C,
- Short-term exposure to 280 °C.
Forms of application :
- Extremely resistant to bases, alcohols, ketones, petrol, oils,
- Not resistant to highly concentrated acids and alkalis, some organic compounds, alkali metals.
