The thoenes ® K271 – Ceramic Yarn Packing is manufactured from ceramic staple fibre yarns.
Key properties :
- Distinctly textile-like, soft and supple,
- Low thermal conductivity of the fibres, thus excellent insulating properties,
- The added organic fibres (also known as ‘spinning aids’) decompose at temperatures above 200 °C,
- Spun-in cores made of chrome wire or glass yarn ensure that strength is maintained.
Areas of application :
- Static applications (e.g. in furnace, boiler and chimney doors, inspection hatches, wrapping of exhaust systems and for sealing heat exchangers),
- Temperature-resistant up to approx. 1000 °C,
- Resistant to oils, greases, liquid metals, acids (except phosphoric and hydrofluoric acid) and weak alkalis.
Available forms :
- Square, round, rectangular or 2 diagonal braids (5–50 mm *),
- Reinforced with glass fibre,
- Reinforced with chromium wire,
- Graphite-impregnated version.
