The training programme is a dual system, taking place at a vocational training centre (BSZ) and at thoenes®.
From the outset, trainees are involved in both day-to-day tasks and projects within the relevant departments. Under the guidance of experienced staff and trainers, they are introduced to the tasks at hand and take on project work independently; these tasks are selected with a view to the roles and responsibilities they will assume upon successful completion of the programme and a potential permanent position.
The interdisciplinary nature of the work gives trainees a quick and ongoing insight into all aspects of the company.

#How did you make the transition from industrial mechanic to product manager?
Basically, I was in the right place at the right time. After my apprenticeship, our approach to customer service was revamped. The role shifted from a permanent field representative towards that of an applications engineer, who was to be integrated into the team. Initially, they looked to fill the position internally. My experience across all areas of manufacturing proved beneficial here. In the sales department, I advised customers and supported my colleagues. Here, I got to know not only the technical side but also the commercial side of the business. To further my development, I was offered the opportunity to undertake further training to become a technical business administrator. When the opportunity arose to take on further responsibility, I was in the ideal position to fill the role of product manager with my technical and commercial knowledge. Thanks to the opportunities and openness offered by thoenes, I am able to provide our customers and our team with optimal support in many areas.
